After months of developer previews and public betas, Android 15 is now fully developed and stable. However, it’s currently only available for developers. Google has uploaded the Android 15 source code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but updates for users are not yet ready, not even for Pixel devices. The September update for Google’s smartphones is still Android 14.
Google promises that Android 15 will be available for Pixel devices, including the newly launched Pixel 9 series, “in the coming weeks.” Other brands like Samsung, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, vivo, and Xiaomi will receive the update “in the coming months.”
While it was anticipated that Android 15 would arrive for Pixels in October, Google has subtly confirmed this timeline. Meanwhile, developers can explore the AOSP code and start preparing their applications for the new OS.
